Every PahaQue Toy Hauler Ramp Tent is custom-built to fit your trailer. Follow these steps to measure the doorway, ramp, and floor gap for the best fit and weather protection.
01
Before you measure
Every PahaQue Toy Hauler Ramp Tent is custom-built to fit your trailer, so accurate measurements are essential for achieving the best fit and weather protection. Before measuring, park the trailer on a stable, reasonably level surface and lower the ramp completely into its normal open position. Use a tape measure, record every dimension in inches to the nearest ¼ inch, and keep the tape straight and tight. Having a second person hold the opposite end of the tape can make the process easier and more accurate.
02
Measure the rear doorway opening
Begin with the rear doorway opening. Measure the opening width from the inside edge of the door trim on one side to the inside edge on the other—this is where the tent will attach to the door frame sides. Next, measure the doorway height between the inside edges of the upper and lower door trim. Do not measure the outside dimensions of the trailer or the ramp-door panel—the measurements should represent the clear opening where the tent will be mounted.
03
Measure the ramp, hinge, and floor gap
Next, measure the ramp itself. Measure the ramp width from the outer edge of the metal perimeter trim on one side to the outer edge on the other. Do not include cables, hinges, latches or other protruding hardware in this measurement. For the full ramp length, begin at the far outer edge of the ramp trim and measure across the entire ramp, including the hinge and floor gap, ending at the inside edge of the doorway trim. Including the complete hinge and floor gap is especially important because this dimension determines the finished length of the tent floor.
04
Double-check your measurements and trailer details
Finally, measure each area a second time before submitting your order. Record the toy hauler’s year, manufacturer and model, and tell us about any unusual trim, hinges, cables, latches or flooring that could affect installation. If a measurement is difficult to obtain or if you are uncertain where to place the tape, add a note to your order or contact us for assistance. You can also send us photos of your ramp and doorway to further help explain your set up.
